NSX Names Jon McConaughy And Mary L. Bender To Board

Date 21/11/2005

National Stock Exchange (NSXSM) today announced the appointment of Jon McConaughy and Mary L. Bender to its Board of Directors.

Mr. McConaughy, Managing Director of Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), was appointed as a Member Director on NSX's Board, filling a seat vacated by the resignation of Antoine C. Kemper, Jr. in September 2005. Ms. Bender, a prominent securities industry consultant, was named as an Independent Director.

"The depth and range of experience that Jon and Mary bring to the table is invaluable to NSX as we enter a new era of fierce competition in a post-Reg. NMS environment," said NSX CEO and President David Colker. "We welcome them to our Board."

As Managing Director of CSFB, Mr. McConaughy oversees Index Arbitrage, Quantitative Arbitrage and High Frequency Trading in North America. Before joining CSFB five years ago, Mr. McConaughy spent nine years at Susquehanna Investment Group, trading equity and index options before helping build the firm's index-trading desk into one of the largest index arbitrage traders in the business.

Ms. Bender is currently a consultant to broker-dealers and securities exchanges in the areas of financial responsibility, sales and trading practices, customer protection and securities industry continuing education. Prior to that, she served as Chief Regulatory Officer of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, responsible for market surveillance, financial monitoring, examinations and investigations of financial/operational, sales practice and trading procedure matters, and the development of regulatory policy.
