Nomura Asset Management Launches NEXT FUNDS Solactive Global Memory Index ETF, Tracking Solactive Index

Date 30/09/2026

Nomura Asset Management Co., Ltd. has launched the NEXT FUNDS Solactive Global Memory Index Exchange Traded Fund, tracking the Solactive Global Memory Index. As Japan’s first global memory semiconductor ETF, it provides exposure to global companies operating across the memory value chain, from semiconductor devices and components to enterprise and data-center storage systems.

Memory has become an increasingly important element of advanced computing. Growth in artificial intelligence, cloud services, and data-center workloads is driving demand for high-performance technologies such as HBM, DRAM, NAND flash, and solid-state drives, strengthening the role of memory within the broader digital infrastructure ecosystem.

The Solactive Global Memory Index draws from eligible companies in developed markets, South Korea, and Taiwan and applies minimum market capitalization and liquidity requirements. Solactive’s proprietary natural language processing algorithm ARTIS® is used to identify companies with relevant business activity in the memory industry, including semiconductor memory devices, memory and storage components and modules, and enterprise and data-center storage systems. Up to 20 eligible securities are selected based on free-float market capitalization and weighted by free-float market capitalization, with individual constituent weights capped at 25%. The index is rebalanced semiannually.

The ETF listed on 30 September 2026 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange under the ticker 639A.

Timo Pfeiffer, Chief Markets Officer at Solactive, commented: “As AI models become more powerful and data-intensive, memory is emerging as a critical component of computing performance. The Solactive Global Memory Index is designed to capture this increasingly important part of the technology value chain by identifying companies with meaningful exposure to memory-related businesses. We are pleased to support Nomura Asset Management in bringing this investment theme to Japanese investors.”
