No Changes To FTSE 100 At UK Quarterly Review

Date 08/03/2006

FTSE Group, the global index provider, has today confirmed that there are to be no changes to the FTSE 100 index following the latest UK indices quarterly review. This has been approved by the FTSE Europe, Middle East and Africa committee which met today. This is the first time there have been no changes to the blue chip index at a review since March 1996.

In the mid cap FTSE 250 index, there will be three new entrants – recently listed power company Drax Group, investment company Dexion Absolute, and JKX Oil & Gas, promoted to the FTSE 250 from the FTSE SmallCap.

Making way for these new entrants are pharmaceuticals company SkyePharma, Photo-Me International and Whatman, all falling into the FTSE SmallCap.

In a separate corporate action, P&O tonight leaves the FTSE 100 after being taken over by Ports, Custom and Free Zone Corporation in Dubai. Replacing it in the index with immediate effect is Corus Group.

All changes from the review will take effect at close of business on Friday 17th March.
