What does ETF, investment fund and index fund stand for? What is an ETF, after all? And what's the difference between active and passive investments? These questions have been addressed in the first edition of "ETF Basiswissen" which took place on 22 March 2017. The participants received simple and concise explanations about the fundamental benefits of investment funds traded on the exchange. The event at the ConventionPoint was attended by 40 private investors. They were welcomed by Danielle Mair, Senior ETFs & ETPs Sales Manager SIX Swiss Exchange, who gave practical instructions how the product search on the website of the Swiss exchange can be used efficiently.
Experts from the areas of independent pension advice, asset management and product development transmitted valuable knowledge to the attendees on how to invest successfully in exchange-traded funds. Stefan Heitmann, CEO & Founder (MoneyPark), Raimund Müller, Head UBS ETF Switzerland & Liechtenstein (UBS
) and Marcel Wagner, Head Tracker Selection Discretionary Mandates (Credit Suisse
), provided guidance how investors can find an ETF, what they have to consider before investing in one and how products can be compared.
Danielle Mair commented: "We are very happy about the positive feedback on the first edition of our new event series. We achieved our goal of giving the numerous participants a better understanding of exchange-traded investment funds. Our website provides them with various options to find different ETFs, to compare them and to select the most suited ones for their investment needs."
