This action will be taken at the same time by the ASX and other exchanges in the region who are able to record their support in this way, or have not otherwise taken an opportunity to record their support.
Trading and other business activities will be suspended to allow all market participants to express their sympathy, grief and respect for everyone affected by last week's terrorist tragedy.
It will also provide an opportunity to recognise the strength and determination of the financial markets to continue as usual as marked by the opening of the US markets on Monday.
