New York Stock Exchange Will Begin The Procedures For The Resumption Of Trading In The NY Registry Shares Of Royal Dutch Petroleum Company

The New York Stock Exchange announced today that it will begin the procedures for the resumption of trading in the NY Registry Shares of Royal Dutch Petroleum Company (Symbol: RD) in view of the Company’s October 31, 2005 announcement of the definitive terms of their restructuring. The Exchange expects to trade the RD shares until either the Securities and Exchange Commission approves the Company’s application to withdraw its NY Registry Shares from listing on the Exchange or the completion of the restructuring and merger.

The NYSE notes that it may, at any time, suspend a security if it believes that continued dealings in the security on the NYSE are not advisable.
