New York Mercantile Exchange Will Hold An Internet-Based NYMEX ACCESS® Session This Afternoon

Date 14/09/2001

The New York Mercantile Exchange will hold an internet-based NYMEX ACCESS® session this afternoon. There will be a 1:30 PM log-in; 2:00 to 2:30 P.M. pre-opening session to enter orders; and trading will be conducted from 2:30 to 5 PM, with the 4:30 to 5 PM period as the closing range.

Spot month settlement will be based upon the weighted average price during the closing range, with the settlement committee determining prices for all other months. The settlement committee will include members of the regular settlement committee, as well as industry representatives.

Contracts listed for trading will include light, sweet crude oil; Brent crude oil; natural gas; gold; silver; heating oil; gasoline; propane; electricity; copper; aluminum; platinum; and palladium futures.

The Exchange will use the settlement prices for the October gold and December silver futures contracts as the basis for settling the COMEX Division October gold and Silver options which expire today.

As previously announced, all trades from the Monday, September 10, 2001, NYMEX ACCESS® session, which was dated for Tuesday, September 11, and the abbreviated open outcry metals trading sessions on Tuesday morning have been marked to the settlement prices from Monday's close for clearing purposes. Since there are no official settlement prices for the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday sessions, these trades will be processed "as of" for the Exchange's next trading session.
