New York Mercantile Exchange To Decrease Margins For PJM Monthly Electricity Futures

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., will decrease the margins for most months of its financially settled PJM monthly electricity futures contract at the close of business today so that the margins for all months will be $2,000 for clearing members, $2,200 for members, and $2,700 for customers.

Margins on the spot month will be decreased from $3,500 for clearing members, $3,850 for members, and $4,725 for customers.

Margins on the second and third nearby months will be decreased from $4,000 for clearing members, $4,400 for members, and $5,400 for customers.

Margins on the fourth nearby month will be decreased from $2,500 for clearing members, $2,750 for members, and $3,375 for customers.

Margins on the fifth through seventh nearby months are unchanged.

Margins on the eighth and ninth nearby months will be decreased from $2,500 for clearing members, $2,750 for members, and $3,375 for customers.

Margins on the tenth through thirteenth nearby months are unchanged.

Margins on all other months will be decreased from $2,500 for clearing members, $2,750 for members, and $3,375 for customers.
