New York Mercantile Exchange Sets Volume Record For e-miNY(sm) Natural Gas Futures Contracts

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., announced that a record 2,012 e-miNY(sm) natural gas futures contracts were traded on May 12, surpassing the previous record of 1,846 contracts set on July, 10, 2002.

President James E. Newsome said "This recent record indicates the increased interest of the investment community in the efficiency provided by the e-miNY(sm) natural gas futures contracts as a risk management tool in today's volatile energy markets."
