New York Mercantile Exchange Appoints Vice President Of Market Data Services

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., announced today that it has appointed Robert Garfield as vice president of market data services. Mr. Garfield will be responsible for market data revenue and the development of new market data products and services.

A 19–year veteran of the energy and information industries, Mr. Garfield joined the Exchange from his role as executive vice president of Energy Intelligence, a publisher of business–to–business newsletters, research, and analysis to the global energy industry. He was responsible for sales, marketing, business development, circulation, customer service, and technology.

Prior to that, Mr. Garfield served as head of global energy marketing and strategic business development for the Reuters Group. He was promoted to that position from marketing director of commodities and energy for Reuters.

Mr. Garfield also held the positions of energy derivatives trader and controller of energy derivatives at Morgan Stanley; energy analyst for Amerada Hess; and financial analyst Case, Pomeroy, Inc.

Mr. Garfield has a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Bucknell University.
