New York Board Of Trade's Cotton Contract Shatters Five-Year Open Interest Record

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) cotton market set an all-time open interest record of 97,260 futures contracts on September 29, 2003. The previous OI record was 95,556 contracts established on January 28, 1998.

The Cotton No. 2 contract (Symbol CT) is 50,000 pounds net weight of cotton, or approximately 100 bales. Cotton trades at NYBOT from 10:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. (NY Time). NYBOT's New York Cotton Exchange was founded in 1870.
