New York Board of Trade Opens 1999 with Increased Market Activity

The two exchange subsidiaries of the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) - the Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Exchange (CSCE) and the New York Cotton Exchange (NYCE) - recorded a January 1999 total volume of 1,957,085 futures and options contracts. The total volume was 4% greater than the 1,878,480 total contracts traded in the first month of 1998.
