New trading hours will take effect on Euronext cash markets from Monday, 19 February 2007. These changes will help harmonize trading hours within Europe, and will also make it easier to manage European indices.
Trading hours for continuously traded equities on Euronext will be extended by five minutes, from 9.00 to 17.30 CET, compared with 17.25 CET previously. As a result, pre-closing, during which orders are collected in the central orderbook, will be moved to between 17.30 and 17.35 CET from between 17.25 to 17.30 CET, and the closing auction will be held at 17.35 CET instead of 17.30 CET. Trading at last price, which currently takes place over 10 minutes, will be reduced to 5 minutes, from 17.35 to 17.40 CET.
On the same date trading for Euronext.liffe’s equity and currency options and for its derivatives on the following indices, will close 5 minutes later:
