Dr Grenville is a former Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia. He works as a consultant to the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Asian Development Bank, on financial sector issues in East Asia. He is a director of AMP Capital Investors Limited and an Adjunct Professor at the Australian National University in Canberra. Before his period with the Reserve Bank from 1982 to 2001 Dr Grenville was with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris, the International Monetary Fund in Jakarta, the Australian National University and the Department of Foreign Affairs.

In addition to his appointment to the SFE Corporation Board, Dr Grenville has also been appointed to the boards of SFE's main operating subsidiaries including Sydney Futures Exchange, SFE Clearing Corporation and Austraclear.
