New Names For All Subsidiaries Of Bursa Malaysia

Bursa Malaysia Berhad have received approval on all new names for its subsidiaries from the relevant authorities. The change in the name for the exchange holding company and the securities exchange which was announced on 20 April 2004 and following that, the new names for its subsidiary companies is to better reflect the business and services offered by the demutualised exchange.

The comprehensive lists of the change in the names of the companies are as follows:

Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia, Yusli Mohamed Yusoff said that it is also important to change the names for synergy in branding and to reflect the comprehensive suite of services offered by the exchange.

"Where previously, the exchanges and subsidiaries had their own identity, we see the need to brand all our services under the one brand of 'Bursa Malaysia'. This will result in a more effective and cost effective marketing for the exchange.

"Whilst this change may take time and some getting used to, it will serve the market and country well. We now have a one strong and consistent brand offering a suite of services," Yusli said.

Bursa Malaysia would also like to inform its customers and the public on the various usage and application of the name(s), of products and services as follows:
