New Lyxor Equity Index ETF Launched On Xetra - Key Asian Equity Index As Benchmark

Date 05/11/2008

Deutsche Börse is further expanding its XTF segment for exchange-traded index funds (ETFs) on the pan-European Xetra trading platform and has admitted a new ETF issued by Lyxor International Asset Management, a subsidiary of Société Générale, to trading.

The Lyxor ETF MSCI ASIA APEX 50 (ISIN: FR0010652867) tracks the performance of the MSCI ASIA APEX 50 Price Return Index including dividends. This index contains the 50 largest companies in terms of market capitalization – thus the most liquid equities – in Asia ex-Japan.

The benchmark index of the new Lyxor ETF is calculated in US dollars and only includes countries with a minimum five percent weighting, in order to minimize currency risks. Furthermore, only countries with capital markets fully accessible to foreign investors are considered.

A total of 370 exchange traded index funds are currently listed in Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment. Deutsche Börse has the largest selection of ETFs of all European exchanges. This selection, together with an average monthly trading volume of over €9 billion, makes Xetra Europe’s leading trading venue for ETFs.
