New Look For The Hong Kong Securities And Futures Commission

Date 09/10/2018

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) today introduced a new corporate identity as it approaches its thirtieth anniversary next year.

"The SFC has moved with the times in refreshing its image, but it will always remain squarely focussed on upholding fair and orderly markets to protect investors," said Mr Carlson Tong, the SFC’s Chairman. "Investors should have full confidence that the SFC will continue to pursue its regulatory goals vigorously, without fear or favour."

"Our markets are now much larger, more complex and more connected than ever and times like these call for unceasing vigilance, rapid intervention and resolute enforcement," said Mr Ashley Alder, the SFC’s Chief Executive Officer. "The new design – which is inspired by the kites familiar in Hong Kong skies – reflects our determination to identify threats, punish wrongdoers and ensure our markets are fair and clean."

The new image was unveiled this evening at an annual SFC reception for key stakeholders and alumni where the SFC bid farewell to Mr Tong as he retires after a six-year tenure as Chairman and welcomed Mr Tim Lui, the SFC’s Chairman-designate.

Beginning with changes on the SFC’s website, the new design will be phased in over the coming months. Current stocks of stationery and other materials will be used until fully depleted.
