New Daily Volume Record At NYBOT

Thursday, April 13, 2006, went into the record books as the highest trading volume day in the 136-year history of the New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®). The world’s leading “soft” commodity exchange had 315,390 combined futures and options contracts change hands during the day, overtaking the previous daily volume record of 315,256 contracts, established on January 27, 2006.

NYBOT has experienced numerous monthly volume and open interest records throughout the 2006 year, as well as yearly records for the previous three years. The exchange has witnessed its seat prices reach the record level of $875,000, established April 5, 2006.
