On Wednesday, NatWest CEO Alison Rose stepped down immediately after coming under pressure over Nigel Farage's bank account.
NatWest's board of directors announced that Paul Thwaite, currently chief executive of the company's Commercial and Institutional business, would take over Dame Alison's responsibilities for 12 months, pending regulatory approval.
"The board and Alison Rose have agreed, by mutual consent, that she will step down as CEO of the NatWest Group," Howard Davies, chairman of the board, said.
