National Stock Exchange(SM) Names Glen Shipway To Board Of Directors

National Stock Exchange (NSX(SM)) today announced the appointment of Glen Shipway to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Shipway, former Executive Vice President of Nasdaq, was named as an Independent Director on NSX's Board.

"NSX is fortunate to be able to draw upon Glen's years of experience and range of expertise in the securities industry," said NSX CEO and President David Colker. "His insights bring a meaningful new dimension to our Board and will strengthen us as we move forward."

Mr. Shipway served as Executive Vice President for Nasdaq from 1989 to 1999. Among his many management responsibilities were marketing, education and training for various products and services, technology development, operation of the Third Market in all NYSE and Amex-listed companies, and on-line real-time market surveillance. He was also directly involved with market makers and other market participants regarding trading rules and trade reporting and settlement, as well as broader market structure issues. Following his position as Nasdaq Executive Vice President, he was CEO of Primex Trading N.A., L.L.C., an advanced electronic auction system for trading listed and Nasdaq securities.

Prior to joining Nasdaq, Mr. Shipway served as Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of Interstate/Johnson Lane Corp. (now Wachovia Securities Inc.).

Since leaving Primex Trading in 2002, Mr. Shipway has worked as a consultant to brokerage firms and their legal counsel on matters relating to brokerage operations, trading and securities regulation, and to self-regulatory organizations, including the NASD.
