National Stock Exchange(SM) February Trades Jump 51 Percent And Share Volume - Up 11 Percent From Year Earlier

National Stock Exchange (NSX(SM)), the largest electronic stock exchange in the United States, today announced that the number of trades in February 2005 reached 30.2 million, up 51 percent from 20 million in February 2004. Share volume in February 2005 of 10.3 billion rose 11 percent from 9.3 billion in February 2004.

NSX averaged 1.6 million trades per day in February 2005. The number of shares per day averaged 540 million during the same period. The third largest stock market in the country, NSX in February 2005 captured a 33-percent market share of trades in Nasdaq-listed stocks.
