National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange: October Contracts Saw Record Open Interest To Deliveries Ratio

October contracts saw record open interest to deliveries ratio. Out of the 18 commodities delivered on the exchange, 10 commodities saw open interest to deliveries ratio of above 80%.

The Exchange saw deliveries in 8 commodities touch new heights. Deliveries in castor (2520 MT), chana (1300 MT), pepper (887 MT), lemon tur (10920) & wheat (4400 MT) broke previous records. The exchange saw record deliveries on its metal contracts too with gold deliveries of 26 kgs, silver deliveries of 21210 kgs and M S Ingots of 200 MT.

Previous record for castor was 1340 MT in March while that for chana was 1180 MT in September. In fact, chana has show a rising trend for the past three months with regard to deliveries. Previous record for pepper was 756 MT in June. Lemon tur has continued to show a rising trend in the amounts being delivered on the exchange since it has started being traded. The previous record for tur was in September (9670 MT). Previous record for wheat was 3880 MT.
