Natalie Lemaire To Head The AMF's Retail Investor Relations Division

Date 29/03/2010

Natalie Lemaire has been appointed director of the Retail Investor Relations Division (DREP) of the AMF, effective 3 May 2010. Ms Lemaire, 46, graduated as an engineer from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Industries Agricoles et Alimentaires (ENSIA) and holds a master's degree in quality and marketing from the ESSEC business school.

She began her career in 1987 in the retailing and distribution industry with the Carrefour-Promodès group, holding several positions in the fields of quality and customer satisfaction. In 2002 she was appointed head of quality and customer satisfaction for retail banking operations at the BNP Paribas group, where she set up the quality and consumer relations department. From 2007 to the present, alongside her other duties, Natalie Lemaire was responsible for formulating and implementing the group's sustainable development and participative innovation policy.

The AMF has created the DREP in order to give primary importance to its investor protection remit. The new division will allow the regulator to rationalise and coordinate its activities in this area; it will be staffed by some twenty persons divided into three units: mediation, retail investor intelligence and education, and support functions and information.

Commenting, AMF Chairman Jean-Pierre Jouyet said: "It was time to refocus on the essentials and raise the profile of the AMF's day-to-day efforts in the area of investor protection. The DREP also intends to set up an observatory to monitor and study retail financial products and the related advertising and publicity ".
