The Nasdaq Composite® Index also posted its largest ever single-day point increase. Preliminary data indicates the Composite gained 324.66 points to close at 2616.52, surpassing the previous record one-day increase of 274.05 points that was set on December 5, 2000.
The Composite also rose 14.17 percent, breaking the previous record of 10.48 percent that was set on December 5, 2000.
