Nasdaq To Close At 1 p.m. On July 3, 2000

The Nasdaq Stock Market® announced that in observance of the Independence Day Holiday, it will close at 1 p.m., Eastern Time (ET), on July 3, 2000. As part of the previously announced holiday schedule for major U.S. equity markets, Nasdaq® is also closed on July 4, 2000. Nasdaq technical systems will close early on July 3rd according to the following schedule:

The Automated Confirmation Transaction (ACTSM) Service, a messaging system that records transactions in Nasdaq and other securities, will shut down at 3:32 p.m., ET, rather than 6:32 p.m., ET.

SelectNet®, an automated Nasdaq market service that enables securities firms to route orders, negotiate terms, and execute trades in Nasdaq securities, will close at 1:00 p.m., ET, instead of 4:00 p.m., ET. SelectNet After Hours will close at 3:30 p.m. instead of 6:30 p.m., ET.

The Nasdaq Quotation Dissemination ServiceSM (NQDS), which carries real-time quotation information for Market Makers and electronic communication networks (ECNs) in each issue of the Nasdaq National Market® and The Nasdaq SmallCap MarketSM, will close at 3:30 p.m., ET, rather than 6:30 p.m., ET.

The Nasdaq Trade Dissemination ServiceSM (NTDS), which carries real-time trade-price and volume data for all trade reports that are submitted through ACT to market data vendors and other data feed recipients, will shut down at 3:40 p.m.,ET, instead of the usual 6:50 p.m., ET.
