Nasdaq Sets Third Consecutive Share Volume Record - Latest Record Is Just Shy Of 2 Billion Shares

The Nasdaq Stock Market® announced yesterday that it has set a third consecutive share volume record. Preliminary figures show more than 1.972 billion shares were traded. Daily volume so far this year averages 1.666 billion shares. The Nasdaq Stock Market lists nearly 5,000 companies, has a larger dollar volume, and trades more shares per day than any other U.S. market.
