NASDAQ OMX Nordic Trading Statistics October 2013

NASDAQ OMX today publishes monthly trade statistics for the Nordic1 and Baltic2 markets. Below follows a summary of the statistics for October 2013:

The share trading increased by 21.2 % to a daily average of 2.266bn EUR, compared to 1.870bn EUR in October 2012. Compared to the previous month, September 2013, the daily average decreased by 9.2 %.

Derivatives trading increased by 2.2 % to a daily average of 456,943 contracts, compared with 447,169 contracts in October 2012.

ETF trading3 (Exchange Traded Funds) increased by 19.1 % to a daily average of 50.4m EUR compared to 42.3m EUR in October 2012.

Nokia Oyj was the most traded stock during the past month, followed by Nordea Bank AB.

Merrill Lynch was the most active member during the past month, followed by Morgan Stanley.

NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s share of order-book trading in our listed stocks4 decreased to 65.0%, compared to 66.1% previous month.    
NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s share of order-book trading in Norwegian listed shares5 increased to 8.25 % compared to 8.20 % the previous month.

The average order book depth on the best price level was larger at NASDAQ OMX Nordic  than the second most liquid trading venue, see detailed figures per exchange:

• For OMXC20 companies 2.8 larger
• For OMXH25 companies 2.3 larger
• For OMXS30 companies 1.7 larger

NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s average time at EBBO6 (European Best Bid and Offer) was:

• For OMXC20 companies 92.4 %
• For OMXH25 companies 84.5 %
• For OMXS30 companies 93.1 %
