NASDAQ OMX: Nordic And Baltic Markets Trading Statistics - July 2013

NASDAQ OMX today publishes monthly trade statistics for the Nordic1 and Baltic2 markets. Below follows a summary of the statistics for July 2013:

  • The share trading increased by 3.1 % to a daily average of 1.735bn EUR, compared to 1.683bn EUR in July 2012. Compared to the previous month, June 2013, the daily average decreased by 26.1 %.
  • Derivatives trading decreased by 12.1 % to a daily average of 338,159 contracts, compared with 384,815 contracts in July 2012.
  • ETF trading3 (Exchange Traded Funds) decreased by 42.7 % to a daily average of 27.8m EUR compared to 48.5m EUR in July 2012.
  • Nokia Oyj was the most traded stock during the past month, followed by Nordea Bank AB.
  • Merrill Lynch was the most active member during the past month, followed by Credit Suisse.
  • NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s share of order-book trading in our listed stocks4 decreased to 63.8%, compared to 65.8% previous month.     
  • NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s share of order-book trading in Norwegian listed shares5 decreased to 9.7 % compared to 10.5 % the previous month.
  • The average order book depth on the best price level was larger at NASDAQ OMX Nordic  than the second most liquid trading venue, see detailed figures per exchange:

                         · For OMXH25 companies 2.6 larger

                         · For OMXS30 companies 1.9 larger

  • NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s average time at EBBO6 (European Best Bid and Offer) was:

                         · For OMXH25 companies 85.4 %

                         · For OMXS30 companies 90.9 %
