The NASDAQ OMX Group (NASDAQ OMX: NDAQ) today announced the listing of Seagate Technology which will begin trading on the exchange on September 16, 2008 under the ticker symbol NASDAQ:STX. The company joins other industry leaders such as CME Group, Celera Corp. and CA, Inc. in switching their listing from the NYSE to NASDAQ. In the last 9 months, more than $64 billion in market capitalization has shifted from the NYSE to The NASDAQ Stock Market and in total 37 companies have switched from other U.S. Exchanges to NASDAQ year to date.
