Nasdaq: Money Market Fund Data To Be Available Today

As reported in the media, The Nasdaq Stock Market is closed for business today. Since other financial markets are open, however, Nasdaq is planning to open the Mutual Fund Quotation Service (MFQS) from 4:15 to 5:55 p.m., Eastern Time (ET), for investment companies to report pricing information. We expect that most investment companies will input data for money market funds only.

Nasdaq disseminates MFQS data via the Nasdaq Level 1 Service. Please note that Nasdaq will process the Money Market Release with Effective Annualized Yield (Category F - Type E) message format today.

Currently, Nasdaq is disseminating test quotation data via Level 1 to direct connect subscribers to use to check their systems and networks. Nasdaq plans to close this testing period at 4 p.m., ET. From 4:15 to 5:55 p.m., ET, Nasdaq will process real-time fund messages. At 5:55 p.m., ET, Nasdaq will disseminate the end-of-day batch transmission for money market and mutual funds. There will be no MFQS second session today. Nasdaq and the Investment Company Institute would greatly appreciate it if market data vendors would carry the money market fund prices entered into the MFQS system today.

For firms that do not intend to process the Level 1 data stream, Nasdaq will post a downloadable file with the money market fund data to the Nasdaq Trader website tomorrow.
