Nasdaq Hosts Meeting Of Middle Eastern Stock Exchanges In New York - 10 Middle Eastern Exchanges Represented - Talks Are "Exploratory"

The Nasdaq Stock Market (Nasdaq®) is hosting a two day meeting, today and tomorrow, with representatives of 10 Middle Eastern Stock Exchanges. The meetings are being held in New York, with a visit to Nasdaq's Data Center in Trumbull, Connecticut. There are over 30 senior executives visiting from the following exchanges:

Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchange

Athens Stock Exchange

Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange

Amman Stock Exchange

Kuwait Stock Market

Palestine Securities Exchange

Capital Markets Board of Turkey

Istanbul Stock Exchange

Dubai Stock Exchange

Nasdaq Stock Market

Frank G. Zarb, chairman and CEO of Nasdaq, explained, "We are here to share information and learn about the practices and strengths of each other's markets. At this stage, our discussions are completely exploratory, with no commitment or specific plans for any shared efforts. Having said this, our discussions today have been very positive, and we have agreed to evaluate various opportunities and challenges and meet again in the spring of next year."
