The Index exceeded 5000 only 48 trading days after topping 4000 for the first time. Preliminarily, the Nasdaq Composite has risen 977.40 points, or 24 percent for the year. Already in 2000, the Nasdaq Composite Index has set 15 new record highs.
Daily share volume has been growing explosively at Nasdaq with a 115 percent increase since January 1, 1998. Quote message traffic per day has grown by 278 percent over the same period.
