Nasdaq Appoints Steven J. Randich As Executive Vice President And Chief Technology Officer

The Nasdaq Stock Market® today announced the appointment of Steven J. Randich as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, effective October 30, 2000.

Randich will be responsible for Nasdaq's overall technology operations and systems development. He will be based in Trumbull, Connecticut, and will report to Gregor Bailar, Nasdaq's EVP for Technology and Operations and Chief Information Officer.

"Steve is a strong visionary leader and manager who has excelled in building client and technology organization relationships, inspiring staff commitment, and most importantly, achieving results. With Steve, we fully expect to achieve continued high quality in our day-to-day operations and faster time to market for new product development," commented Bailar.

Randich most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the Chicago Stock Exchange. He is credited with a full renovation of systems capabilities and the creation of a fundamental technical advantage for the Exchange. Prior to his employment at the Chicago Stock Exchange, Randich held technology and business management positions with IBM and KPMG.

Randich's 17 years of extensive management experience cover all aspects of technology, including application development, technology operations, technical support services, data center management, LAN, WAN, and telecommunications. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University.
