NASDAQ Announces February Market Share Performance Statistics - Matched Market Share in All U.S. Equity Share Volume Exceeded - All Other U.S. Exchanges for the Eleventh Consecutive Month - Matched Share Volume in All U.S. Exchange Traded Funds - Surpasse

The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) today announced its consolidated market performance statistics for the NASDAQ Market Center for the month of February. Matched volume in all U.S. securities was 44.4 billion shares in February, as compared with 28.1 billion shares in February 2007. Consolidated volume in all U.S. securities in February was 144.6 billion, compared with 103.2 billion in February 2007. NASDAQ's matched market share of all U.S. Equity share volume in February was more than any other U.S. exchange for the eleventh consecutive month at 30.7%, compared to 27.2% during the same period last year.

In February, NASDAQ's matched volume in NASDAQ-listed securities was 21.4 billion shares, compared to 18.2 billion shares the previous year. NASDAQ's handled market share in NASDAQ-listed securities in February was 70.8%(1) and matched market share was 45.7%.

NASDAQ's matched volume in NYSE-listed stocks was 15.8 billion shares in February, an increase from 7.9 billion shares in February 2007. NASDAQ's total reported market share in NYSE-listed stocks in February was 37.0%(2). NASDAQ's matched market share in NYSE-listed securities last month was 20.3%, up from 14.5% in February 2007. NASDAQ's handled market share in NYSE-listed securities last month was 57.0%.(3)

NASDAQ's matched volume in all U.S. ETFs in February was 8.1 billion, more than any other U.S. exchange, compared to 2.7 billion in February 2007. Matched market share of all U.S. ETF volume last month was 39.0%. NASDAQ's total reported market share of all U.S. ETF volume in February was 53.6%(4), with 11.1 billion shares being traded compared to 4.7 billion shares the same period one year ago.

Included in NASDAQ's handled and total reported share in February for all U.S.-listed, NASDAQ-listed, NYSE-listed, and ETF securities are average daily volumes of 1.3 billion, 499.4 million, 647.4 million, and 151.6 million shares, respectively, reported to the FINRA/NASDAQ Trade Reporting Facility.(5)
