Nasdaq Acquisition Of Shares In London Stock Exchange Plc

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. ("NASDAQ") announces that it has acquired 35,404,265 shares in London Stock Exchange plc ("LSE") from Threadneedle Asset Management Limited (representing Threadneedle's entire holding in LSE) and with a further purchase of 2,695,735 shares took its holding to 38,100,000 shares or 14.99% of the issued share capital of the LSE, at a price of 1,175 pence per share. The total consideration represents approximately GBP 447.7 million (c. US$781.7 million).
