Mutual Fund Kicks Off Trading On New Junior Market Of The Securities Exchange Of Barbados -Fund is also the first security on the SEB to be categorised as "dematerialised".

Barbados this morning welcomed the initiation of trading on the Junior Capital Market of the Securities Exchange of Barbados (SEB).
The first company that has been approved for listing on this market is the Fortress Caribbean Property Fund. The fund, which successfully raised USD17.7 million from 730 shareholders in its initial public offering in August 1999, will start trading as the first and only security on the junior market.
Fortress Caribbean Property Fund is also the first security on the SEB to be categorised as "dematerialised". The fund's share register is held in electronic format in the Barbados Central Securities Depository.
