The MCX COMDEX closed at 2,179.78 up 27.89 points during the course of the week; while the MCX Agri Index closed at 1,688.24 up 5.11 points; MCX Energy Index closed at 2,285.13 up 49.84 points and MCX Metal Index closed at 2,565.97 up 28.72 points.
The Exchange has recorded a total weekly turnover of Rs. 47,633.30 crore for the period November 10, 2006.
In the bullion segment, all MCX Gold contracts registered a turnover of Rs. 19,299.91 crore, while all MCX Silver contracts have recorded a turnover of Rs. 10,775.24 crore. The outstanding open interest for all MCX Gold contracts was 16,333.6 kgs and the total volume recorded was 211,840 kgs. The total volume of all Silver contracts recorded was 5,708,590 kgs. The outstanding position for all MCX Silver contracts for the week was 359,840 kgs.
In the metal segment, all MCX Copper contracts registered a turnover of Rs. 5127.54 crore with open interest of 21,543 tons and recorded total volume of 155,486 tons; while all MCX Zinc contracts recorded a turnover of Rs. 2,994.22 crore, with open interest of 7,410 tons and recorded 149,160 tons as total volume.
In the energy segment, all MCX crude oil contracts registered a turnover of Rs. 4864.89 crore with open interest of 1,431,600 barrels and recorded total volume of 18,071,300 barrels; while all MCX natural gas contracts recorded a turnover of Rs. 1,766 81 crore, with open interest of 1,784,500 mmbtu and recorded 50,051,500 mmbtu as total volume.
Some of the other major agri-commodities traded on MCX registered the following turnover- All Guarseed contracts registered a turnover of Rs. 113.32 crore, with open interest of 9,510 tons and total volume recorded was 56,620 tons.
- All MCX Mentha Oil contracts registered a turnover of Rs. 897.66 crore, with open interest of 2,556.72 tons and total volume recorded was 14,128.20 tons.
- All MCX Refined Soy Oil contracts with open interest of 198,440 tons registered a turnover of Rs. 877.26 crore and total volume recorded was 60,620 tons.
- All MCX Potato contracts registered a turnover of Rs. 76.54 crore, with open interest of 36,300 tons and total volume recorded was 1,44,630 tons.
