MSCI Chief Joins FTSE

Date 06/06/2000

FTSE announced today that Jane Staunton, formerly a Principal with MSCI Europe, will join FTSE as Chief Operating Officer of its North American subsidiary, FTSE Americas Inc, effective June 12. Staunton will lead FTSE's drive in North America to convert plan sponsors to the new FTSE All-World index.

FTSE established an Americas office in New York in January 1999 to market its index products and services to the U.S. institutional investment community. FTSE Americas Inc President Will Oulton commented, "We are extremely fortunate to have someone with Jane's industry experience and market knowledge join FTSE at this important point in the development of our business. This region holds some of our largest and most important clients and the addition of Jane is clear evidence of our ambitions to further rapidly increase our market share and presence in North America"

Staunton had been with MSCI since 1994, most recently with responsibility for running sales and marketing for MSCI in Europe before returning to the USA to manage its large client accounts. Her record has included impressive revenue growth as well a significant increase in the conversion of equity assets to MSCI benchmarks. Added Oulton, "Jane's track record speaks for itself. We're confident she has the leadership ability and experience to deliver the kind of outstanding results for FTSE as she did in her prior assignments."

Prior to joining MSCI, Staunton held marketing, product management and sales positions at Dow Jones Telerate, Bridge Information Systems,Wang Financial Information Systems and Salmon Brothers, Inc. At FTSE, she will initially be responsible for sales, marketing and client services for North America.
