Euronext.liffe’s Cocoa futures and options contracts also set a number of records during the month of November:
- Cocoa futures - monthly volume record of 409,073 contracts, significantly higher than the previous highest monthly volume of 279,531 contracts set in July 2004;
- Cocoa options – monthly volume record of 52,754 contracts, breaking the record of 47,171 contracts set in October 2002; and
- Cocoa futures - numerous open interest records were set during the month, culminating in an open interest of 216,749 contracts on 29 November.
The products are actively traded by a diverse range of participants, including producers, exporters, trade-houses, processors and manufacturers as well as by managed funds and both institutional and short-term investors.
