Minister Of Immigration & EGX Chairman Meet With Egyptians Abroad Through "Clubhouse" To Discuss Investment Opportunities At EGX

H.E. Ambassador Nabila Makram, Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed Farid, Executive Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), participated in an interactive session through "Clubhouse" Application with the participation of Egyptians abroad, to inform them of the investment opportunities in the Egyptian Capital Market.


This event is a continuation of a series of activities between EGX and the Ministry of Immigration to stimulate Egyptians abroad investment in EGX.
 

The meeting was attended by about 280 participants; Egyptians abroad, representatives of brokerage firms and investment banks.
 

H.E. Ambassador Nabila Makram, Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Affairs abroad, welcomed the attendance and expressed her pleasure for the continuous cooperation with EGX to introduce investment opportunities in EGX to Egyptian’s abroad.

Ambassador Nabila Makram expressed her happiness and appreciation for the accelerated efforts of the task forces of the stock exchange and the Ministry of Immigration to activate the protocol of cooperation with the aim of introducing Egyptians abroad with investment opportunities on the Egyptian stock exchange, to clarify that the next phase will see the adoption of all necessary measures to simplify the necessary measures for the investment of Egyptians, most important of which is coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the process of documentation and papers required so that Egyptians abroad can invest in EGX.

Dr. Mohamed Farid, Executive Chairman of EGX, reviewed the components of the comprehensive economic reform program adopted and implemented by the Egyptian government since 2016, which included financial, monetary and structural reform and did not overlook the protectionist policies of the weaker and less fortunate groups symbiotic and dignity, stressing that these reforms contributed to achieving several objectives, the most important of which is greater stability of macroeconomic indicators and achieving positive and rising growth rates as well as strengthening the role of the private sector.

He mentioned the different types of investors that are in line with the various investment products in The Egyptian Capital Market, stressing that investing in EGX in the first place must be financed by savings surplus from the basic needs.  He added that the investor should monitor performance of listed companies and analyze their financials to make the right investment decision stressing on the importance of having guidance from licensed investment managers or through investment funds and ETFs if the investor does not have good investing experience in the capital market. He stressed that EGX’s management is taking all necessary actions contributing to the promotion of trading in the Egyptian market.
