Mike Gagné New President & CEO Of Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc.

Mr. Rob Dzisiak, Chairman of the Board of Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc. today announced the appointment of Mike Gagné as President and Chief Executive Officer effective May 1, 2002. "Mike has been Interim President & CEO since June 1, 2001 and has done an excellent job for us." said Mr. Dzisiak. "The new shareholder elected Board, which has been in place since January 28, 2002 was unanimous in their support for his appointment."

As President, Mr. Gagné will lead Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc. under its new for profit status by building on its strengths as the only commodity based futures and options exchange in Canada. This includes enhancing the current product base, diversifying by exploring non-agricultural commodity based products and by examining the potential for providing new non-traditional services to market participants.

Mr. Gagné has been with the Exchange since January of 1992 and served in the capacity of Vice-President, Finance and Administration. From 1983 until 1991, he was Chief Financial Officer for Manitoba Crop Insurance Corporation. Prior to that he worked for a large exploration and mining development corporation and for a large oil and gas company.

Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc., established in 1887, is Canada's only agricultural futures and options exchange. WCE offers futures contracts on canola, canola meal, flaxseed, domestic feed wheat, western barley, and field peas.
