Midam's October Volume At 35,077 Contracts

The MidAmerica Commodity Exchange, a wholly-owned affiliate of the Chicago Board of Trade, announced today trading volume of 35,077 contracts for October 2001.

• Total exchange month-end open interest was 9,273
• MidAm average daily volume: 1,525
• Agricultural futures and options complex trade was up 67.3% from September 2001 at 34,195 contracts
• Soybean futures were up 99.3% from September 2001 at 24,563
• Wheat futures were up 7.8% from September 2001 at 2,394
• Corn futures were up 12.1% from September 2001 at 5,206
