MidAm Oct. Volume 94,729 Contracts, Up 10.7% From Sept.

The MidAmerica Commodity Exchange, a wholly-owned affiliate of the Chicago Board of Trade, announced today trading volume of 94,729 contracts for October 2000, an increased of 10.7% from September 2000.

• Total exchange month-end open interest: 23,016
• MidAm average daily volume: 4,306
• Agricultural futures and options complex trade was 82,635, up 27.2% from September 2000
• Soybean futures were up 37.3% from September 2000 at 55,024
• Corn futures trade was 16,230 for October 2000
• Wheat futures were up 28.6% from September 2000 and up 14.0% from October 1999 at 6,858
• Financial futures and options complex trade was 6,755
• Currency futures complex trade was 4,414
• Metals futures and options complex trade was 925
