MICEX March Trading Volume

In March 2006 the MICEX trading volume in USD/RUB futures was 2 913 810 contracts, or USD 2,9 billion in notional value (RUB 81,1 billion).

The end-of-month open interest reached 1 917 550 contracts (USD 1,9 billion, or RUB 53 billion).

April 2006 futures represented 41% of total trading volume, while March 2006, May 2006 - September 2006 and December 2006 accounted for 5%, 7%, 23%, 1%, 2%, 16% and 4% respectively.

On March 31, 2006 the open interest among April 2006 - September 2006, December 2006 and March 2007 contracts was distributed as follows: 34%, 22%, 13%, 2%, 3%, 19%, 6%, 1%.
