MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), reports three separate daily records from Friday, including its highest open interest total of all-time, ending the day at 87,186 and surpassing the previous record from a day earlier by more than 2,300.
This is the fifth-straight day MGEX has recorded a new all-time high in open interest. The figure is now up 18 percent from the start of the new year and 20 percent from this day a year ago.
Total volume came in at 19,003 on Friday, while electronic volume ended the day at 17,312, both reaching 12th-best all-time on their respective charts. Total volume for February now stands at 115,147 with 10 trade dates remaining.
