MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), will present a pre-meeting workshop, “Apple Juice Concentrate (AJC) Futures 101” at the upcoming Juice Products Association (JPA) Fall Business Meeting at the InterContinental Buckhead Hotel and Resort in Atlanta, Georgia. MGEX Corporate Secretary and Treasurer Layne Carlson, together with futures broker and past chairman of the Juice Products Association Futures Committee Kevin Barley, will hold the workshop Sunday, October14, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The JPA Fall Business Meeting will run October 15 and 16.
The pre-meeting workshop will highlight AJC futures and options contract specifications, the role MGEX plays in reducing counterparty risk, what is needed for trading and the connectivity to Globex®. Participants of all backgrounds and experience levels will be given relevant examples to help understand futures and options and the AJC contract.
JPA is a trade association of the fruit and juice products industry. Members consist of processors, packers, extractors, brokers and marketers of fruit and juice beverages and related products.
