At the October 19 organizational meeting, MGEX (Exchange) Board of Directors (Board) named its 2009-2010 public directors and officers, and assigned committee representatives. Four public directors were appointed by the Board each serving one-year terms. Curt Denisuik, Director of Commodity Risk Management, Canadian Wheat Board, William R. Power and Steve Fanady return to the Board. Alan Swimmer, who brings a wealth of experience from the managed money sector of the industry, is the newly named public director on the MGEX Board.
The Board elected officers and members for the executive committee. Michael L. Ricks, Cargill, Inc., was named Board chairperson. Other Board officer positions named were as follows: Christopher T. Matzdorf, UBS Securities, LLC, first vice chairperson; Gary S. Weber, second vice chairperson. Completing the five-member executive committee are William R. Power and Steve Fanady.
“On behalf of the entire management team, I am very pleased to again be working with our Board as we look to grow and diversify MGEX,” Mark G. Bagan, President & CEO, MGEX said. “The talent pool is rich, as evidenced by those selected this year. With the returning leadership and building on the accomplishments of the past Board, the future is extremely bright for MGEX,” Bagan said.
