MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), today reports total Exchange open interest at 40,652 contracts, a nine percent increase from June 2013. Total volume is reported at 99,912 contracts traded. Futures contracts accounted for 98,364 contracts traded, while options contracts accounted for 1,548 contracts traded.
The Hard Red Spring Wheat (HRSW) contract made up the majority of the contracts traded, with 98,357 futures contracts traded and 1,468 options contracts traded. Electronic options saw a significant increase from July 2012 with 693 options contracts being electronic, compared to 220 last year. Total HRSW open interest came in at 40,179 contracts.
The Apple Juice Concentrate (AJC) contract saw record options open interest on July23 with 440 contracts. Total open interest is reported at 473 contracts.
