Metamako Accelerates Growth In First Half Of 2017

Date 31/07/2017

Metamako has announced today that the first half of 2017 has seen continued rapid growth, driven by significant new product launches and the adoption of its platforms by a number of partners in areas such as regulation and compliance. The leading provider of FPGA-enabled high-performance networking devices has significantly increased its client base in 2017, with growth driven by an expanding set of use-cases, for example the increased need for highly-accurate data capture and timestamping, FPGA technology and RegTech/compliance.

2017 has seen several solution partners including Enyx, MayStreet, NovaSparks and ArrayWare join Metamako’s fast-growing partner ecosystem. The launch of Metamako’s powerful 96-port programmable switch, along with the triple FPGA E-Series devices, have further contributed to the expansion. At the same time Metamako has made several key appointments: Max Vit as the Head of Operations, based in Sydney, Annekathrin Häse as Director of Marketing and Communications in London and Matthew Knight, VP of Technical Marketing in New York.

Kevin Covington, CEO of Metamako, said: “2016 was a stellar year for us, and 2017 is proving to be just as busy, with the company scaling up operations to meet the increasing demand for our products, with new clients and new products in the pipeline, and exciting new partnerships. Our development and support teams in Sydney have grown by over 25% and I’m delighted to have Max, Matthew and Annekathrin join us. Establishing such a strong team can be seen as a rite of passage, as Metamako transitions from being a very successful start-up technology disruptor to a world leader in FPGA and high-performance networking solutions.”

Dave Snowdon, Metamako CTO, said: “Being brought into the RegTech/compliance space so quickly has been fascinating; timestamping, especially in relation to MiFID II compliance, continues to be an important issue for our clients, along with latency reduction and the use of FPGAs. We are finding that institutions are looking to expand their use of our networking platforms to a much wider range of use-cases with FPGA development and usage leading the way. As always, the challenge is to think ahead of our clients and the industry.”

The growth in products and clients has necessitated an increased global headcount at the company, particularly in its development, operations and marketing teams, with the recent appointments of Annekathrin Häse, Matthew Knight, and Max Vit. Vit brings years of valuable and relevant experience to Metamako, having recently been Director of Operations of Australia’s Information and Communications Technology Research Centre (NICTA) and The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). Häse has an extensive background in technology marketing, having previously worked as CMO at MindLink, as well as at Roambi, Satmetrix and Dynamic Logic before that, while Knight was most recently Technical Marketing Director, Financial Services, at Solarflare Communications, having previously held roles at Accensus LLC, as Head of Labs at DRW Trading Group and Consultant at STAC Research.

Metamako also increased its global logistics capabilities, establishing further warehouses in Australia and Europe to guarantee 48-hour delivery timeframes.
