Metal Management Joins The NYSE Group, Inc. As The 14th Transfer To The NYSE In 2006 - 8th Transfer From Nasdaq In 2006

Today, NYSE Group, Inc. (NYSE: NYX) welcomed its eighth transfer from Nasdaq in 2006 as Metal Management, Inc., a leader of full service metal recyclers in the U.S., joined the world’s largest equities market.

Metal Management, Inc. (NYSE: MM ) marks the 14th transfer to NYSE Group markets year-to-date, following six transfers from Nasdaq, one transfer from Nasdaq to NYSE ArcaSM and six transfers from Amex.

To celebrate this special occasion, Metal Management Chairman, President and CEO Daniel W. Dienst rang today’s Opening Bell.

Recent transfers from Nasdaq to the NYSE in 2006 include Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. (NYSE: HLX ). The company, with a market capitalization over $3.5 billion joined the NYSE in July. Earlier this year, CRH public limited company (NYSE: CRH ), headquartered in Ireland , with a market cap of over $18 billion, joined the NYSE in March.

Since 2002, 124 companies transferred from other markets to the NYSE, 85 from Nasdaq and 39 from Amex.
